Scottish election: Greens name eight list candidates for Fife in May 7 poll
The Scottish Greens have named their regional candidates for Scottish elections on May 7.
Mark Ruskell heads up the eight-strong list for Mid Scotland and Fife - one of the eight electoral regions created at Holyrood.
He sits at number one on the party’s list with Mags Hall in second.
Mr Ruskell has served three terms as an MSP for the regional seat. He was behind the move that scrapped peak rail fares, created free bus travel for the under-22s, and last ,month brought in a law that ended greyhound racing in Scotland bringing a Bill to law that saw an end to cruel greyhound racing in Scotland.

Mags Hall, from Dunfermline, has served as the Scottish Greens’ chief political strategist, and stood in a number of elections in Fife.
She has worked with the Green MSP Group at Holyrood, and been a key political figure pressing government officials and ministers in negotiations to implement green policies.
Mr Ruskell said: “I’m asking voters to look at my track record as their MSP, know that I have consistently delivered on what I have promised to them, and be assured that I will keep demanding better of others on their behalf.
“We want free buses for everyone - helping people save money, opening up opportunities, and protecting the climate. We did it for under-22s, we did it to scrap peak rail fares, and if elected to the regional list, we can do it again.” He added: “The UK and Scottish governments cannot be allowed to try and ignore the plight of workers impacted by Mossmorran, and so I will be using this election to hammer home the message that our communities cannot be left behind - the Scottish Greens will use every vote to ensure that everything is done to help support them.”
Mags Hall said: “People across Mid Scotland and Fife are working harder than ever and still falling behind. The cost of living isn't just squeezing household budgets - it's hollowing out our high streets and pushing small businesses to the wall.
"While other parties chase headlines trying to outflank each other to the right, we are focused on the people who actually need a government that works for them.” The Green’s regional list also includes Caitlin Ripley, who stood in a Perth and Kinross by-election 2024, and Ryan Blackadder, a former Dunfermline and Dollar parliamentary candidate. Also listed are Marie Stadtler, Clare Andrews, Andrew Adam, and Paul Vallor.
