Fifer joins Sam Ryder on Celebrity Race Around The World
A Fifer is a contestant in one of the BBC’s flagship entertainment shows.
Kaz Coles from Buckhaven has teamed up with his friend, singer Sam Ryder, to compete as a duo in the fourth series of Celebrity Race Around The World.
The Eurovision star and Kaz met over a decade ago whilst touring and have been firm friends ever since.
Kaz has since worked as Sam’s tour manager for the last 12 years, supporting him since his early rock and punk band days, through his rise to chart success and the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest.
Sam said: “We met in 2013. Two kids touring in vans. We just got on like a house on fire, straight away.”
This year the four pairs of celebs set off from the city of Kuching, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in North West Borneo.
On their journey they will tackle a 7,500km course through prehistoric jungles and the heartlands of Borneo, to reach five check points across three countries and two continents, ultimately aiming for the southern tip of Australia and the finish line in Melbourne.
Racing against in this year’s series against Sam and Kaz are sports presenter Jeff Stelling and his son Matt, singer-songwriter Ella Eyre and her childhood friend Nana, and brother and sister pair, Princess and Junior Andre.

The teams are traveling with no flights, no smartphones, no internet, and no bank cards, relying on a strict budget of £26 per person per day.
Contestants in previous years have included former All Saints singer Melanie Blatt, McFly drummer Harry Judd, model Kelly Brook and broadcaster Roman Kemp.
Celebrity Race Across The World is on the BBC iPlayer and BBC One on Wednesdays from 8pm.
