Commonwealth Games: how Fifers can catch the bus to Glasgow's 2026 Games

Stagecoach has encouraged Fife residents to jump on the bus if they are travelling to Glasgow for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

With the Games taking place until August 2, customers can travel on the X24 and X27 express services into Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station before heading to venues across the city.

An East Scotland DayRider, costing £12.80, provides unlimited travel throughout the day, while existing MegaRider and Flexi tickets can also be used for journeys to and from the Games. Customers aged under 22 or over 60 can travel free with a valid National Entitlement Card.

Jumping on the bus can remove the stress of travelling by car during one of the busiest periods of the year in Glasgow, passengers avoid congestion, parking charges and the additional expense of fuel, allowing for a more relaxed journey.

The Stagecoach Bus app can help customers plan their travel, purchase tickets in advance and follow their bus in real time.

Fiona Doherty, managing director for Stagecoach South Scotland, said: "The Commonwealth Games is one of Scotland's biggest sporting occasions, and we're delighted to help customers from across Fife be part of it.

"Our express services provide a comfortable and convenient way to reach Glasgow, making it easy for spectators to focus on enjoying world-class sport rather than the challenges of travelling by car. Whether you're supporting Team Scotland or simply soaking up the atmosphere, we look forward to welcoming customers on board throughout the Games."
