Striker Dale Reid went close early on when he volleyed a bouncing ball just over the top from the edge of the box.
The top scorer then struck a shot wide after latching onto a Gary Sutherland flick and also fired another shot past the post midway through the half.

Hide AdReid then set up Alan Tulleth, whose low shot was blocked by the goalkeeper.
The ball rebounded to Tulleth and his follow-up was blocked by a defender, as the visitors dominated proceedings.
Jamie Mackie headed wide in the 20th, while Gary Sutherland was only inches from connecting with a Stuart Walton cross.
It was, however, Dalkeith who opened the scoring on 26 minutes.

Hide AdTrevor-Wales crossed from the right and striker Adams headed home what proved to be the winner in what was his side’s first real attack.
In response, Tayport pushed forward again and Marc Ogg saw a snapshot from the corner of the box tipped over the bar.
‘Keeper McQueenie also tipped over a deflected, dipping Gary Sutherland strike, on 35 minutes.
On half-time, the hosts had Paul Tansey red-carded for a kick at Stuart Walton but Tayport struggled against the ten men after the break.

Hide AdAgain, ‘Port had the vast majority of the play, but could not get in behind the Dalkeith defence and time began ebbing away and there would be no way back.
Indeed, Thistle almost caught Tayport on the break in the final quarter hour and Gavin Sorley had to make a couple of top saves.
