Emma Mitchell makes the switch from Arsenal to Reading


The Scottish International was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the Royals.
She joined the Gunners from German side SGS Essen in 2013,
Mitchell played in an FA Women’s Cup Final win over Everton in 2014 and lifted WSL Cups either side of that Wembley win.

Hide AdShe was back at Wembley to beat Chelsea in 2016 during her time at Arsenal.
The local pro still had a year left on her contract but as she was seeking regular game time felt that she needed to move on from the Gunners with Reading the perfect fit.
She spent the second half of the 2019-20 season on loan at Arsenal’s north London rival’s Tottenham Hotspur.
“Emma is a great addition to the squad and is someone who knows what it takes to win and be successful,” Reading boss Kelly Chambers said.

Mitchell made 119 appearances across all competitions with eight goals to her name for Arsenal.
She made the breakthrough domestically with an all conquering Glasgow City side before heading abroad and then to England.
