Kennoway 0-2 Dalkeith Thistle

KSH were looking to keep their run of six straight wins in the league at home going as they welcomed Dalkeith Thistle in what would prove to be a frustrating afternoon for the home side.

The Jags were first to create a chance as Tansey saw his shot beaten away by Paterson.

Kennoway started to dominate possession and Shaw in particular was proving a menace on the left hand side of attack as his trickery saw Dalkeith double up to try and contain him. Shaw provided openings for both Wilson and M Gay but both times the forwards hesitated allowing the Jag`s defenders to clear the danger.

Dalkeith were always a threat and Wales saw a header go close as slack play from the home side saw a needless corner conceded.

Shaw was the player who looked most likely to create and five minutes before half time the winger easily evaded a few tackles before trying to curl his effort into the top corner, McQueen clawed the ball away for a corner kick.

A succession of corners followed and some resolute defending from the Thistle defence saw the half end goalless.

An immediate improvement at the start of the second half saw first Band have a chance to open the scoring only to see his effort blocked. This was followed by Wilson through on goal and his first time shot saved by McQueen.

From the resultant corner C Gay saw a header cleared on the goal line by Murray as the home side upped the pressure.

Dalkeith broke the deadlock when a corner kick was bundled over the line by Devlin.

With two minutes remaining Paterson saved a shot from Whitson when a goal looked likely.

The corner produced goal number two as the ball fell to Tansey on the edge of the penalty area and he produced a goal of stunning quality as he volleyed it high into the net.
