Emily Dark eager for chance to impress in GB shirt
The GB squad returned to the pro league this week to play its first competitive fixtures since February.
One game against the Netherlands, the world’s number one side, has already been played in midweek with GB holding the hosts to a 1-1 draw before the Netherlands took the bonus point in a 3-1 penalty shoot out.

Hide AdEmily, who attends the University of St Andrews, wasn’t selected for that match day squad ahead of a follow up game against the same opposition due to be played on Thursday.
Such is the stature of the pro league, the games are being screened live on BT Sport.
This is the first international call up to the senior women’s GB team for 20-year-old Emily who is a third-year physics student.
After Thursday’s game GB
will then face Belgium on 31 October and 1 November.
Emily’s selection continues what has been a rapid rise up the ranks.

Hide AdShe was invited to train with the full senior GB women’s hockey team early this month.
Emily is a Scottish senior women’s hockey internationalist and part of the performance hockey programme at the University of St Andrews . She has won the Chancellor’s Award for Sporting Excellence for the last two years – the highest sporting accolade the University bestows.
