The blueliner has signed for Cracovia Krawow for the 2020-21 season.

With the British game on hold until December, he follows in the footsteps of a number of players from across the EIHL who have opted to play in Europe instead.

Fans’ favourite, and the club's all-time EIHL record points scorer, Carlo Finucci has gone to Corona Brasov in Hungary.

Gutwald iced for just one season in Fife, joining them after two campaigns with rivals, Glasgow Clan. Before that his career was spent playing in the Czech and Slovakian Leagues.

His departure follows that of Chase Schaber to German hockey, while defenceman Sam Jones has signed for Sheffield Steelers, and veteran Scott Aarssen has retired.

The club has, so far, only announced Adam Jones – brother of Sam – and forward, Bari McKenzie, as signings.

The UK top flight isn’t expected to face off until December with warm-up games and the proposed Magic5 weekend scheduled for November, but there remain concerns over its viability if there are still restrictions on numbers rinkside.
