Cash boost for Kirkcaldy's wee panto
The King’s in Kirkcaldy has received a £2000 cash boost to help bring its annual festive show to the stage.
The donation from Persimmon Homes North Scotland will help the theatre group buy new equipment for this year’s production, including blackout curtains.

This year’s show will be a little different, with ‘Oor Wee Robyn Hood’ moving to the Linton Lane Centre while the The King’s is closed during the demolition of the former ABC Cinema building and improvement works at the theatre.
Starring Billy Mack, the production will open on December 3 and run until January 9, 2027.
Local councillor Judy Hamilton visited the Linton Lane Centre to present the cheque to Mandy Hunter and George Lindsay from The King’s.
The donation was made through Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions initiative, which supports community groups and organisations across the areas where the company builds.
Cllr Hamilton, said: “I am delighted as always to support The King's and our annual pantomime.
“The panto in Linton Lane brings in a huge excitement of theatre, and fun in the heart of Templehall.
“Described as having Christmas at the in-laws this year, I believe it will attract new audiences - as well as our continued support from around Kirkcaldy.
“I am very grateful to Persimmon for their generous donation that will support Linton Lane to provide a modern theatre atmosphere for a great Panto.”
Mandy Hunter added: “This donation is very much appreciated to help the Board create a small theatre in the heart of Templehall.
“It will give opportunities for groups to showcase their talents and we are very excited hosting ‘Oor Wee Robyn Hood’ at Christmas.”
James MacKay, Regional Managing Director at Persimmon Homes North Scotland, said: “The King’s is an important part of Kirkcaldy’s community and we’re delighted to support this year’s production.
“We hope the funding helps the team put on a fantastic show for audiences while the work at the theatre continues.”
