‘Stories From The Stones’ guided tours at historic Kirkcaldy graveyard

A guided tour of Kirkcaldy Old Kirk’s historic graveyard takes place this weekend.

“Stories From The Stones” is on Saturday (July 25) at 2:00pm.

Those who join the free tour will hear about some of the famous - and not-so-famous! folk buried in the parish graveyard, from the butler who became Provost because of a whale, to the family who sent a sailing ship loaded with goods to Australia and established a trading firm there that still exists.

There is also the story of the last fatal duel in Scotland with the two duellists buried duelling distance apart in the graveyard and the pistols now in the Galleries.. The tour lasts about an hour and a half and all are welcome. Meet in the church.
