Funding boost for small Fife charity which helps families connect

A charity which helps families across Fife build confidence, strengthen relationships and create lasting memories has secured a funding boost.

The Glenrothes based Muirhead Outreach Project was one of nine small Scottish charities to benefit in the latest £16,000 funding round from the Henderson Loggie Charitable Foundation.

Its £2,000 grant will provide core funding for the early intervention charity, which takes a trauma-informed, whole-family approach to supporting children, young people and parents through difficult times.

Muirhead offers one-to-one and group support to families, as well as outings, new experiences and short breaks at the charity’s caravan in Kinghorn.

Janine Norris, its development manager, said: “This core funding is so important for our organisation and the families we support. It provides us with stability, confidence and the opportunity to continue helping families connect, experience new opportunities, build positive relationships and create lasting memories together.

“We work alongside families to improve wellbeing, build confidence and self-esteem, strengthen family relationships, and foster a sense of belonging within their communities. Knowing that Henderson Loggie Charitable Foundation recognises the value and impact of this work means a great deal to us.”

Jacqueline Watson, trustee and chair of the Henderson Loggie Charitable Foundation, said: “Small, grassroots organisations often deliver the most immediate and meaningful impact, because they know their communities inside out.

“These grant awards go straight to the point of need. We know how much pressure small charities in Scotland are under just now, and we’d encourage any eligible group making a genuine difference locally to apply when our next round opens.”
