He has been shortlisted in the ‘Most Impactful Imam’ category at the 2020 British Beacon Mosque awards for the third consecutive year.

Imam Mansoor said: “It was a few days ago someone first told me that I had been nominated. It is very nice to be recognised, and my congregation is over the moon.

"The category I am in has a lot of really influential Imams from mosques in England with massive congregations – it is almost like Raith Rovers going up against teams in the Champions League!”

Imam Mansoor’s nomination comes after he and his congregation banded together during the coronavirus pandemic to help people who were struggling to put food on the table.

"It really was a community effort,” he said. “Members donated money to be put towards food for people who were struggling, and we set to delivering food parcels.”
