A much loved cafe in Kirkcaldy town centre is set to close its doors.

Cupcake Coffee will end a decade on the High Street after shutting for the last time on Christmas |eve.

Simon Dugmore, who ran the business with Jason Ross, broke the sad news on the cafe’s Facebook page. He said: “We have taken the decision after a great deal of heartfelt thought that it is time to call it a day, I have made the decision to eventually retire after coming back for two years. I know that many of you will be saddened and disappointed but I really think it is time.

We would like to thank everyone for their support over 10 and half amazing years and amazing those have been. Our last business day will be on Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24). We will miss every single one of you - even the crabby ones!”

Cupcake Coffee had a loyal clientele who made it their go–to place. It opened its doors on Christmas Day for folk on their own to enjoy a festive meal.

Last year, it launched plans to create a community hub to offer meals at greatly reduced prices for old folk and anyone struggling in the cost of living crisis.

It was based in space at the rear of the building which was not in use.
