The festive fundraiser in aid of three charities takes place on Kirkcaldy prom on Tuesday, December 30.

The fundraiser has been organised by four friends, who go by the name of Running Mad Team, and hopes to raise as much money as possible for Mind, Tommy’s and NSPCC.

They are inviting people to join them on the evening of Tuesday, December 30 to complete the run for the good causes.

And to add some festive cheer, they are encouraging participants to wear fancy dress, enjoy some festive tunes and twinkling lights.

Teams of two will be allocated after registration is completed, with those looking to take part asked to submit their best 5k time of this year to help with their pairing.

Each person will run their section before passing on the flashing LED baton to the next runner.

Entries for the festive fun run will close on Friday, December 19.

The organisers said: “It’s the perfect way to keep the Christmas magic alive between the big day and the bells of Hogmanay. Whether you're chasing PBs or just prancing like a reindeer, come sleigh your way into the New Year with sparkle, speed, and good vibes!

“We look forward to you dressing up in your Christmas jumpers and fancy dress costumes. Santa hats too! Please incorporate lights into your running outfits to shine and give the prom a glow up.

"This event is a fun event and we would encourage friends and family of runners to join in. If you are not running then come along with lights and bells on and support the event.”

The relay will start at the truck stop at 6pm. Registration point will be near there and you will be able to collect your number between 5pm and 5.30 pm.

Entry fees will be donated to the three charities – Tommy’s, Mind and NSPCC.
