Salon staff give up Christmas night out to host sold out Cottage Centre fundraiser
Staff at a Fife salon have given up their Christjmas night out to organise a fundraising event for the Cottage Centre’s appeal.
The charity night organised by Bissett Salon in Glenrothes has already sold out, with all proceeds going to the appeal which is the biggest in Fife, and aims to support 1500 children and families who would otherwise go without.
The evening of celebration and entertainment takes place at Pinkertons in Glenrothes on Thursday, November 13. It includes a glass of fizz on arrival and a hot buffet, live entertainment from Michelle Steele and DJ Rach Birrell, and a charity raffle.
The event also celebrates the first year in business for the salon run by Gemma Bissett.

She said: “We wanted to mark the occasion by doing something meaningful.
“We’re encouraging every guest attending to bring a gift for a child, helping ensure that local children and families who may be struggling this Christmas receive something special.
“One thing that’s particularly important to me is keeping money raised locally, supporting local families.
As a local business owner, I know how much support our community gives to independent businesses like ours. This felt like the perfect opportunity to give something back.” Gemma described the response to the fundraiser as overwhelming, and added: “We’re really looking forward to the event and hopefully raising a fantastic amount for The Cottage Family Centre.”
