Fife Pride will host its ‘Slay Off’ event at the Adam Smith Theatre on April 17.
It is organised by creator, Alistair Stewart, the current convener of Fife Pride, and Jenny Black, the organisation’s accessibility coordinator.
Performers will compete to be the ‘Slay Off’ champion 2026 and the opportunity to headline the Fife Pride main stage. The night will be hosted by Ivy.
Rebekah Arthur from Leven will be competing and showcasing her Broadway influences.

She said “I think it’s extremely important to create a creative space for our local community. There is such a wide variation of talent right on our doorstep and this should absolutely be celebrated.”
Rebekah added: “It’s more than just a show- it’s a statement. It’s giving a platform to people from all walks of life and championing people to be themselves”
Mx. Peri Mint is an rising drag king from Kirkcaldy being a queer, trans and neurodivergent man performing on stage allows them to take control of the narrative.
They agree that Pride is very important to Fife - “especially given that Fife has this weird, rural but not, energy, a lot of performers, especially queer performers, end up needing to travel further afield to feel like they're able to perform as themselves.”
They went on to say: “We need events like this, in times like these, to remind us that people do want community - and that people are good, and kind, and caring!”
The performers will be joined by Brian Hughes, who performs with band Angelica Mode, who is looking forward most to the fashion of the show: “The costumes and outfits will be a real highlight for me.. I think there will be some amazing outfits.”
The other performers are Anna McDermid, Blondie Fizz, David Leon, Atreus star, Clementina and Die and Niceness.
The judges will be SJ Linton, vice principal of Fife college; Paul Murray a Kirkcaldy High School teacher and former convener of Fife Pride; Bev Lyons and head judge, Jo Crawford.
Bev highlighted the effort that goes into an event like this and the experience it gives to the performers.
“Contestants go through the whole process from photo shoot, make up and styling, staging and tech to learning how to present themselves through mini biographies. It’s a chance for them to learn as well as to teach others how to put on a performance.”
Alistair Stewart highlighted the need for pride in Fife saying “Right now, it feels more important than ever. With ongoing challenges and tensions, from national conversations to local issues like those involving NHS Fife and Fife Flyers, it’s clear that visibility and solidarity are still needed. Pride isn’t just a celebration; it’s a statement that our community is here, united, and not going anywhere.”
“Get yourself down to the Adam Smith Theatre for a red carpet extravaganza celebrating queer talent, community, and joy, with a few twists along the way - and keep an eye on our socials @slayoff_fife as we will be announcing some very special headliners for Fife Pride, which takes place at Beveridge Park on Saturday, July 4.
