The flat will consist of a “generous open-plan living space.”

The applicant said the development would “enhance the vitality and security of the town centre” and “preserve the character of the existing building through sensitive and minimal alterations.” It added: “Its current under utilisation detracts from the local amenity and represents a missed opportunity for positive contribution to the community. This proposal aims to rectify this by introducing a viable and appropriate new use.”
