Busy Kirkcaldy road set to close for six months
A busy road in Kirkcaldy is set to close for six months.
Scottish Water is set to shut Dysart Road from its junction with The Kyles to just past just past Ravenscraig Park car park.
The closure takes effect from Tuesday, May 5 to allow its team carry out work on the sewer network running beneath the carriageway. Pedestrian access and access to private driveways will be maintained, but on street parking restrictions may be in place. A section of the car park at Ravenscraig will remain open for the duration of the work which could last up to six months.
It is the second major road closure to hit the town in May. Bennochy Bridge will close for 12 months to allow Network Rail to demolish and then rebuild the rail bridge as part of its electrification of the line running below it.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “This is a busy route in Kirkcaldy and we recognise it will inevitably cause some delays so we ask people to allow extra time for journeys. We will work as quickly as conditions and safety allow to finish as soon as possible and would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding.”
Access to Ravenscraig car park will be from the east of Dysart Road (Briarscliff Street/Wishart Place side). There will be no vehicle access from the roundabout at St Clair Street/Nether Street (bottom of Dysart Road) or Harriet Street and Ravenscraig Street.
A diversion route will be in place. Road users are asked to follow all diversion signs and allow extra time for journeys particularly at peak times.
