Fife Flyers post second win as pre-season gets off to best possible start
Two games, two wins for Fife Flyers, and two performances to spark excitement among the fanbase after a summer rebuild.
Hull Seahawks provided the opposition on Saturday, and the NHL outfit were dispatched 6-1 after taking an early lead in the opening period.
Coach Tim Wallace handed Jordan McLaughlin the start between the pipes, and the netminder came up trumps against his old club, taking the home ‘man of the match’ award.
Seahawks stand out player was also their Finnish netminder Aleksanteri Heiskanen, who took the plaudits after a string of saves. He was a key reason Hull held a lead after the opening 20 minutes despite being outshot 18-4.

Flyers clicked in the second, and four straight goals set them firmly on the road to victory.
Cameron Hough netted for the second night in a row to tie the game after 30 minutes, Lucas Chard nudged Flyers in front three minutes later.
By the 36th minute the gap was 4-1 and the result was beyond doubt - Isack Bandu netting at 35:29 and Xander Lamppa at 36:01. Finish forward Mike Partenan hoisted the tally to five after 46 minutes, and he struck again two minutes later to wrap the scoring.
The result and performance pleased the head coach who has two more exhibition games and a week of training to get his players ready for the opening Challenge Cup qualifiers.
Wallace said: “Even after the first period when we were down we had chances and ton of shots.
“After our first five days here we are becoming a team - there was lots of skilled showed, and this was a lot of fun. We were on the same page which I was happy about.”
