Lomond Quarry Trust awards £17,500 to the Leslie Town Hall Challenge 22 roof fund

Award from Lomond Quarry Trust speeds up roof work for Leslie Town Hall

Leslie Town Hall set up the Challenge 22 Roof Fund to raise £22,000 for roof repairs. The community had already made a concerted effort, raising nearly £5,000 so far this year, but with the repairs being urgently required, the award of £17,500 from the Lomond Quarry Trust means that works can proceed without delay.

Mark White, director of Leslie Town Hall Ltd said: “We are delighted to receive this grant from the Lomond Quarry Trust. Since purchasing the building four years ago we have been managing the leaks in the roof to allow us to proceed with the other works necessary to bring the building back into regular use. We need to carry out this work to protect the building.”

The Town Hall is now the home of Leslie Amatuer Dramatic Club, provides rehearsal and performance space for Glenrothes Theatre Company, Wee Fire Productions and Les Hall Productions, is used by Scottfit for a range of daytime exercise classes, hosts an very active karate dojo, and puts on a wide range of music and theatre shows including the Fife District SCDA One-Act Play Festival and the Wee Fife Folk Festival. Plus it’s an ideal space for celebrations and is particularly popular for kids' birthday parties.
