The company’s St Andrews store is set to launch the new initiative as a trial.

It is one of the first Aldis in Scotland to offer the service which will offer local residents a selection of almost 400 products at their fingertips via the Deliveroo app in little more than 20 minutes.

This will include essential items, such as bread, milk and fresh produce picked and packed by Aldi staff for delivery.

The trial was initially launched at eight stores in England in May, and is now being extended to almost 130 stores across the UK, including in Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh.

Richard Thornton, communications director at Aldi UK, said: “This is an exciting venture for Aldi which provides a new way to serve our customers during these challenging times.”
