Charity, advice and connection – hundreds gather for Fife Funders’ Fayre
Hundreds of members of the local not-for-profit sector came together last week for a packed day of funding opportunities, expert advice and networking at the Fife Funders’ Fayre.
The annual event invites third sector representatives, including community group members and local social enterprises, to collaborate on ways of improving life across Fife.
Held last Wednesday at Fife College’s St Brycedale Campus in Kirkcaldy, it helped to bring attendees together to develop new methods of raising funds and boosting awareness throughout the local area.
Organised by Fife Voluntary Action (FVA), the day brought funders and specialist support organisations under one roof, offering new fundraising opportunities and the chance to share knowledge and build connections that will benefit Fife residents.
Local support groups spoke directly with experts, learned new ways to raise cash, and received hands-on advice on methods for turning ideas into action.
Funders taking part included The National Lottery, The Robertson Trust, Corra Foundation and Creative Scotland. Specialist support came from organisations including OSCR, Volunteer Scotland and event sponsors Lindsays.
The fayre also gave groups the chance to strengthen their local knowledge, explore new approaches and connect with other organisations working to make a difference in their communities.
Expert-led workshops proved popular, with sessions on strengthening funding applications, cyber security, PVG and Disclosure updates, and evaluating the impact of funded projects drawing large crowds.

Throughout the day, the venue buzzed with conversation, networking and the exchange of ideas, underlining the Fayre’s ability to bring together people from across Fife’s third sector.
The FVA is an independent charity that supports, develops and represents community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and volunteering across Fife.
Kenny Murphy, chief executive of FVA said: “By bringing people together and opening doors to new opportunities, Fife Funders’ Fayre continues to play an important role in helping local organisations access the knowledge, connections and resources they need to make a lasting difference.
“FVA looks forward to building on the connections and ideas generated at this year’s event and continuing to support a strong, connected and thriving third sector across Fife.”
