Silver success for K107FM in community radio awards
A Kirkcaldy based community radio station has gained more recognition.
K107FM received a silver award in the ‘celebrating and championing community radio of the Year’ category at the 2026 Community Radio Awards.
It marked its seventh consecutive year of success at the awards.
K107FM provides local information, music, and community programming created by volunteers. The station offers opportunities for people of all backgrounds and experience levels to get involved in broadcasting.
Jayne Smith, chair of the organisation, said: "To be acknowledged alongside so many outstanding community broadcasters from across the UK is a tremendous achievement for everyone involved with K107FM.
The winning submission focused on K107FM's Local Radio Day of programming. Hosted live by Jayne Smith and Alex Airnes, the schedule featured back-to-back interviews with local MSPs, charities, community groups, event organisers and businesses, all of whom had previously featured on the station.
Guests discussed local issues, the value of local radio and the role the station plays in community life.
