Kirkcaldy Walking Festival unveils new walks in 2026 programme
Kirkcaldy Walking Festival gets underway this week.
It has launched a packed programme of events across ten days, from June 5-14, with a number of new additions.
Organised by Amby Stanyer-Hunter, its walks are open to all.
It starts with a Breathing Space led ‘Connecting The Benches’ wall at 11:00am on Friday (June 5) which connects the three benches, which support mental health, installed across town - and it concludes on Sunday 14th with an evening walk from the red heart on the Esplanade to Seafield Tower.

In total the festival has some 16 walks. Said Amby: “They are open to people to come along and take part. We have some new walk leaders and some old faces back again.”
New this year is a dog walk - the Big K9 Walk at Beveridge Park on Sunday, June 7 at 10:00am.
All dogs are welcome on leads to join in and meet their fellow four-legged friends.
There is also a High Street History Walk on Wednesday, June 10, and a Promathon at midday on Sunday, June 14 when people are challenged to walk the Prom as often as they can in a four-hour period.
Explained Amby: “We want to see how many laps people can do. They can drop in and out as they wish, and every time they reach the red heart they will get a stamp. It is ideal for people who like distance walking but don’t want to go far out of the way.”
Kirkcaldy Strong’s community walk on Saturday June 6 also forms part of the festival, taking walkers on a six-mile trek from Dunnikier Park Sensory Garden to the Kings Theatre - and participants can join along the route as well.
There are also walks in Dunnikier Woods, song the coastal path at Dysart and Beveridge Park, as well as a family litter pick on Sunday 7th, starting at Seafield beach car park at 10:30am
