Launch of Pop Down space is final piece of jigsaw at Leven’s community hub
A new community space in the heart of Leven’s town centre has had its official opening.
A ribbon was cut to mark the launch of BRAG’s new venture, Pop Down @ The Hub in the High Street. - a venture hailed as the final piece in the jigsaw for the organisation behind it.
The ceremony last Friday saw over 100 community members, and invited guests come together to celebrate the milestone at the Together Levenmouth Hub. The launch was carried out by local community champion, Peter Wright, who was invited to cut the purple coloured ribbon on the day following a public vote.
During his speech, Peter talked about the benefits of volunteering within your local community, reminded everyone to take pride in their local area and asked everyone to put their litter in a bin and if they see litter in the streets to pick it up!

The new space was transformed through vital funding from the Levenmouth Reconnected Fund and the Garfield Weston Foundation, alongside loan funding from the Bank of Scotland.
The Pop Down @ The Hub space is modern, fresh and flexible, designed so that community groups and local businesses can use the space in a multitude of ways that suit them as well as benefiting from its own dedicated entrance, enabling evening and weekend access.
The new facilities include a large event space, a quiet room, meeting space and a new specialist sensory room. The space is fully accessible with access directly from Forth Street car park or via the High Street thanks to a newly installed lift.
Refreshments were provided by the Hub Café and proved an instant hit, with inclusive charcuterie boards catering to all dietary requirements. Guests were able to experience firsthand the high quality catering available for future events within the new space with interest already being shown from those in attendance.

Established by BRAG in 2021, the Together Levenmouth Hub was created to support the regeneration of Leven High Street, transforming two long vacant retail units into a vibrant community destination with a café, escape rooms and crazy golf.
Following an 11-month closure caused by a fire in a neighbouring building, the Hub reopened in late 2022 with a renewed focus on meeting community needs.
Subsequent changes in 2024 saw the escape rooms replaced with office space for BRAG’s community and employability team, alongside expanded café seating and the introduction of Pop Up @ The Hub.
In early 2025, BRAG began a further redevelopment phase, transforming former stockrooms and staff areas beneath the Hub into the space that is now known as Pop Down @ The Hub.
Brian Robertson-Fern, managing director at BRAG, welcomed the official opening.
He said: ”What a fantastic turnout and the enthusiasm from everyone attending was more than we could have wished for. We have endeavoured to create a genuine community hub here and this new space is the final piece of that jigsaw. I want to pay credit to our funders and stakeholders including the team who have helped bring this vision to fruition as I know that many people will benefit from what we ultimately do here”
